Our District News

The excitement level is high with students at Hellgate Elementary since we received the first bit of substantial snow. Even with a delay in coming to school today, the students were delighted in the fact that there was enough snow to play in. Hellgate Elementary has a fantastic, hard working custodial crew that cleared the parking lots, walkways, and paved playground areas to keep staff and students safe.
There was a pile of snow for every outdoor event today- epic snowman making, rolling huge balls of snow, snow tasting, and most importantly, sliding down a snow hill.
Parents, please let this serve as a happy reminder that all students do go outside several times daily. Please send proper outerwear with your child. Many students have snow pants, snow shoes, substantial coats, hats, and warm, waterproof gloves. It is a wonderful time of the year to make snowmen, slide down towering piles of snow, and enjoy time with friends outside. Stay warm out there!

Several classes coordinated efforts on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 to celebrate friendship. Students were involved in planning as well as preparing some of the food. Thankful turkey decorations and place setting were designed and engineered by our students. Over 50 people including staff and students enjoyed the delicious food celebrating friends and staff members. Thank you Ms. Dunlap and team for coordinating this highly anticipated (and delicious) event!

Just before the Thanksgiving break began, Hellgate's resident holiday elves returned to Building 2. Glitter and Vinnie have been assigned to Hellgate Elementary to provide good behavior encouragement for the students before the holidays arrive.
As elves are known for their antics, Glitter and Vinnie get into mischief of one kind or another in and around the office of Building 2. Ms. Duffy has learned to tolerate their erratic and messy behavior. So far, these elves have played games and hidden themselves in plain sight in mischievous ways. The students are encouraged to find them daily, but to never touch them.

Glitter and Vinnie report all good behaviors to their industrious, red suit wearing supervisor who runs a toy depot north of Missoula. Keep you eyes open for more updates on Glitter and Vinnie.
