    Hello and welcome to 8th Grade History!!  This year we will be studying American history from European exploration and settlement, through Reconstruction after the Civil War.  Included will be American Indian history and the effects the westward movement had on their culture and way of life.  The class will be creative in nature, with act-it-outs, drawing and writing projects, and historical photo, painting, and political cartoon analysis.  By being both  creative and analytical, students will have a better understanding of our past, will have a greater connection to and understanding of their lives, and will be more likely to retain what they have learned.
