• Welcome to 6th Grade!

Hey 6th Graders and families! As we get ready for the new school year, I look forward to meeting each and every one of you!

This will be my fifth year teaching 6th grade at Hellgate and my tenth year in the Hellgate community as a former Camp Fire afterschool/summer counselor. I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, but have lived in quite a few places since my parents retired and moved to the lower 48. I am glad to call Missoula home!

I graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in Elementary Education in 2017. I also studied abroad for a semester at the University of Victoria in New Zealand. I am currently working on my Master's in Science Education through Montana State University, my post-bach in general chemistry through the University of Montana, and my secondary general science endorsement.

As a teacher, I strive towards creating a positive, inclusive and hands-on learning environment for all students. My hope is to facilitate creative learning opportunities and ensure students learn and grow with purpose. I am very passionate about science education and each year I look forward to designing innovative labs/activities and connecting students with local scientists within the professional community!

Outside of school, I enjoy backcountry skiing, mountain biking with my dogs (Sadie & Sage), rafting, paddleboarding, reading and traveling.

Please reach out to me with any questions you may have during the year. I look forward to working with you and your student(s)!
