Welcome
Welcome!
I am excited about my second year as the Director of Special Education at Hellgate. I have worked as a special education teacher at Hellgate Middle School for the past five years. Throughout my years as an educator, I have worked tirelessly to ensure that all students I work with succeed. It has been my personal goal for every student to reach their full potential, regardless of their strengths and weaknesses. I look forward to replicating that goal for our district-wide special education programs.
Current Special Education Programs
Our school's special education program is designed to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment for students with disabilities. We believe every student deserves access to high-quality education and individualized support, regardless of their abilities or challenges.
Our special education program aims to ensure that students with disabilities receive the necessary accommodations and modifications to meet their unique learning needs. We strive to create an inclusive and supportive atmosphere where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Our dedicated team of special education teachers and support staff work closely with students, their families, and general education teachers to develop personalized education plans. These plans are tailored to each student's strengths, challenges, and goals. We aim to provide students with the necessary tools and strategies to succeed academically and build essential life skills.
In addition to academic support, our special education program also focuses on fostering independence, self-advocacy, and social inclusion. We encourage students to participate in classroom activities actively, collaborate with their peers, and engage in extracurricular opportunities. By promoting self-confidence and a sense of belonging, we aim to empower students with disabilities to become confident, contributing members of our school community and beyond.
Our school's special education program is committed to creating an inclusive and equitable educational experience for all students. We believe that by valuing and embracing the unique abilities and perspectives of each individual, we can foster a truly inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity and promotes personal growth.
