Nurse Kayla Kallas

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself—my name is Kayla Kallas, and I’m beyond excited to officially be a part of the Hellgate Elementary team as your new school nurse!

A little about me: I’m originally from Butte, born and raised, and now live here in Missoula with my husband and our two boys, who also attend Hellgate. This school has always been one I’ve deeply respected and valued, so I feel incredibly lucky to be joining such an amazing community.

I’ve been a Registered Nurse for the past 16 years, with a majority of my experience in Neonatal Intensive Care. I’ve also worked in adult intensive care and pediatrics. For the past two years, I’ve been working as a pediatric diabetes educator. I’m excited to bring all of that experience into this role and to support our students and staff however I can.

I absolutely love providing education, so if there are ever any medical topics, health concerns, or types of care you’d like to know more about—please don’t hesitate to reach out! I’m more than happy to share resources or offer information that can help you feel more confident and informed.
