Mrs. Laurel Kasper

Hello First Grade families! I'm so excited to be teaching your child and to welcome you to Hellgate Building 2. This year will be my first as a First Grade teacher and my sixth year at Hellgate Elementary.  After seven years of teaching Kindergarten, I look forward to a new adventure with my First Graders.  

I grew up in Connecticut and went to Maine College of Art before moving to Santa Fe, NM.  Upon completion of my K-8 Elementary Education degree at New Mexico Highlands University my husband, Scott and I decided to move to Missoula to be closer to his family.  I earned my master's degree in English Language Learners at Western Governors University and volunteer tutoring refugee families through Soft Landing Missoula.  I am a mom to 2 children, Bella (23) and River (18), a yellow lab/shar pei mix named Clementine, a 120 pound black lab/pitbull mix named Moose and 7 noisy chickens, all of whom I like to tell silly stories about.  I love to travel (my favorite trip was Bali, Indonesia) and to spend my time hiking, boating, skiing and gardening in our beautiful state.
