• Hello 8th grade students and families! I hope everyone has had an enjoyable summer break. I look forward to meeting you all as the school year begins. This is going to be a year like never before, and I know we will all work together to make it the best possible.

This will be my seventh year teaching, and my fourth year at Hellgate Middle School. I was born and raised in Montana, but have lived in many different places. I graduated from the University of Montana in 2008, and returned to Montana State University to earn a teaching degree in 2014. Since returning here I have once again greatly enjoyed calling Missoula my home.

It is important that students learn by doing, and I strive to create hands-on opportunities for learning whenever possible. As we explore science this year, I hope to connect students to the scientific opportunities that are all around us and to help foster a deeper understanding of the nature of science.

Outside of school, I love mountain biking, skiing, trail running, reading, traveling, and good coffee.

Please feel free to contact me at any time throughout the year with questions. I look forward to getting to know you all this year, please be in touch.
