• Smarter Balance Assessment

    September 1, 2017

Dear Parents and/or Guardians of Hellgate Elementary Students:

We want to keep you informed about student academic performance within your child's school. As such, each year, Hellgate Elementary places on the district website a link to Montana's state assessment data from Smarter Balanced. The information contained in the state summary of Hellgate Elementary student achievement contains a breakdown on how students in grades 3 through 8 did on the annual Smarter Balanced assessment that Montana uses to fulfill its school accountability federal mandates.

Hellgate Elementary receives federal funds for a program called Title I which requires the district to participate in the Smarter Balanced testing program and to meet annual academic goals. The state assessment data warehouse provides information that represents a district "report card" by providing detailed information about student performance for every school in the district involved in the 2016/2017 testing program.

Hellgate Elementary administrators, teachers, and staff are taking action to keep moving Hellgate Elementary in a positive direction with respect to Smarter Balanced student achievement school district assessment accountability.

As you work through the presentation, if you have questions or concerns, please call Dr. Douglas Reisig, Hellgate Elementary Superintendent, at (406) 728-5626 for assistance.

    Douglas Reisig, Ed.D.
