Class Homework Policies
Please see my specific homework policies below.
School Board Policy #2430:
Homework is a constructive tool in the teaching/learning process when geared to the needs and abilities of students. Purposeful assignments not only enhance student achievement, but also develop self-discipline and associated good working habits. As an extension of the classroom, homework must be planned and organized, must be viewed as purposeful to the students, and should be evaluated and returned to students in a timely manner.
Teachers may give homework to students to aid in the students educational development. Homework should be an application or an adaptation of a classroom experience, and should not be assigned for disciplinary purposes.
Specific Homework Policies:
Every assignment is due the day after it is given, unless told otherwise.
Assignments are to be worked on during the class that they are given only.
Students will be expected to complete late or missing homework before school, during Morning Break &/or Lunch, as arranged between the student and myself, until complete.
Students may choose to come in to school early to complete homework for any class. My classroom is open at 7:45 for any student who needs help or wants to work on uncompleted homework.
Assignments for other classes are to be done only after assignments for the current class have been completed AND permission has been given.
See my Grading Policies page for further clarification.
